Our staff is passionate about teaching and maintaining the highest standards within the profession. Therefore, we welcome veterinary students at every stage in their academic career.

Students are provided with practical experience tailored to their stage of professional development. Students who are close to completing their veterinary degrees and less experienced graduates are assisted through hands-on work, including all aspects of veterinary general practice and collegial discussions on diagnosis, prognosis and treatments.

Students are exposed to a broad range of species, which include farm animals, and are given the freedom to choose where their focus lies. Less developed veterinary students are given the exposure needed to familiarize themselves with what it means to be a veterinary professional and are asked to contribute to client education exercises and see-practice with knowledgeable veterinarians.

Ultimately, any student who chooses to volunteer at the Tobago Animal Hospital will be expected to grow, learn, increase competencies and utilise his/her experience to continue along the path of suppoting the veterinary professional community.
