For Veterinarians
The Tobago Animal Hospital boasts three dynamic, young veterinarians with proficiency in soft- tissue surgery and medicine in a wide variety of species.
Because the Hospital is very much a work in progress, it lacks many of the technological advancements that may be commonplace in other more developed countries or more well-established practices. However, while we lack access to radiology and perform limited orthopaedic work, there is a small lab on-site with microscopy, automated haematology, and Chemistry machines, as well as rapid stains for cytology analysis, and there is a moderate volume of various types of soft-tissue surgery performed at the clinic.
The staff at the Tobago Animal Hospital welcomes all colleagues with any level of experience, be it as a new graduate trying to gain some much needed experience or as an experinced veterinarian imparting some knowledge on us. Our High- volume spay-and-neuter project, SpaN Tobago, includes and supports professional development at all levels.
Furthermore, the staff all endorse and pursue the ONE HEALTH ideal of collaboration with all categories of experts to solve complex issues in the wider society. Under the One health umbrella, staff have authored articles for local newspapers and appeared on local television and radio to discuss the benefits of spay and neuter, public health implications of emerging diseases and food safety, among other topics.
Colleagues in the veterinary community are invited to reach out and participate in any of these activities if they are so inclined by contacting us here.
Unfortunately, for those seeking employment, the Tobago Animal Hospital holds no vacant post at this time.
